Obituary for Sylvia Ruth Toliver (Foster)

Sylvia Ruth Toliver (Foster)
Sylvia Ruth Toliver
January 11, 1946 – June 7, 2016
Sylvia Ruth Toliver passed away on June 7, 2016
surrounded by her loving family at the Palliative Care
Unit at the Red Deer Hospital after a short battle with
Lung Disease. Sylvia was an active volunteer within the
community of Olds, AB where she loved to dedicate her
time at the Sunshine Bus and the Tuck Shop at the Olds
Hospital. She was an active member of the Olds Curling
Club and held the position of Treasurer. Sylvia worked at
Steeples Vet Clinic in Cranbrook for over 30 years where
she was able to extend her love for animals. Sylvia was
always a pet owner and many who knew her could only
dream of being one of her spoiled pets. She loved to go
camping with family and friends and took great pride in
her garden and flowers.
Sylvia married the love of her life, Mervin Eugene Toliver
on July 23, 1988 bringing together their 5 children to live
in Cranbrook, BC until they moved to Crawford Bay, BC
then to Olds, AB where they have been for 7 years.
Sylvia leaves behind her loving husband and soulmate
Merv and her 5 children. Deanna (Gary) Waite, Christine
(Jim) Lo, Kari (Gary) Wilkinson, Christopher (Erin)
Toliver and Deane (Dixie) Toliver. She will be greatly
missed by her grandchildren Brodie, Libby, Claire,
Brayden, Noah, Colton, Mikayla and Matthew. She also
leaves her brother Barrie (Ida Marie) Foster and Norman
(Heather) Foster.
Her family is humbled to have her father & mother,
Harry “Red” and Winnifred Foster and her brother Harry
Dennis Foster along with her many beloved animals
waiting for her in Heaven with open arms.
At Sylvia’s request, the family will be having a private
grave side service at a later date.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at
the Red Deer Hospital that cared for Sylvia during the
past few weeks. Their dedication and compassion will
never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family asks
that a donation be made in Sylvia’s name to Alberta
Lung Association or to an animal rescue foundation of
your choice.
