Jan and Judy Madsen

We have to echo Bob Wilson's stories about Rose. We are the neighbours on the other side of Rose. She was quite the gal. We always enjoyed her quick wit and ability to recall life long ago at Coal Camp or instantly give an opinion on current events. There were lots of laughs. Many years ago when we came to visit Jan's parents at the cabin we would find Rose and Everett, Alex and Eva Leew and Vaughn and Erna Madsen lined up on the river bank fishing until the sun went down, Rose loved her fishing and her favourite meal was a white fish fresh from the river. The rest are gone now, Rose was the last one. Life in Coal Camp has changed. We are so very sorry will not be there to say our final goodbyes. She always ended our visits with an I love you, and we felt the same. We will miss Rose, she was a great neighbour. She was and will always be the Matriarch of Coal Camp.
