JOHNSTON
Kenneth John Johnston was born in Berwyn Alberta on December 30, 1940 to Henry and Amelia Johnston. He passed away peacefully at his home in Olds on April 16, 2017 at the age of 76 years. Ken grew up in Grimshaw, Alberta and when he was 17 years he joined the Army. Being in the military took Ken around the world. Ken took great pride in the years he served, being part of Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry. Ken retired from his military career in Wainwright, Alberta in 1989 and then moved to Olds. He chose Olds as his home because of its great hockey community. Ken’s greatest passion was volunteering for the Olds Grizzlys, Mountain View Colts, and many Olds Minor Hockey teams over the years. He could always be seen in the timekeeping box doing what he loved. He will be sadly missed and forever loved. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday April 24, 2017 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, Olds. Interment followed in the Olds Cemetery Field of Honor.
