August 16, 1945 - February 10, 2017
Our beloved Dad, Grandpa, and Mom's best friend passed peacefully from his home in Bergen Springs to his Home in the Sky. He is predeceased by his parents, three brothers, a sister, and his faithful kitty, Bobby. His Spirit remains with his sister Jean, brother Melvin (Delores), lifelong love Jeanette, daughters Lisa (Tom), Jackie (Derrick), son Steve (Robyn), grandchildren Jeannie, Brittany (Neil), Justin, David(Erin), Chantelle(Daniel); great grandchildren Jordan and Scott. We will remember and emulate Dad's gentle, patient nature; his brown eyes expressed compassion and kindness toward all people and animals alike. He was well known for his sense of humor and penchant for practical jokes. He enjoyed many hours playing the Dobro on his front porch while Bobby quietly critiqued his work. Dad spent his work years long distance trucking; he could back up a double trailer into a narrow dock at midnight with mere inches to spare. We wish to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rob Warren, Shayla, Deana, Kari, Deb, Laurel, Shalynn, and Barb. Without the expert palliative support from these individuals, honoring Dad's wish to remain at home would have been impossible. Memorial Services will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #223, Sundre on Friday, February 17 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Moose and Squirrel Palliative Program or Sundre Community Health Centre; cheques made payable to the Sundre Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
