Robert Erich Wiens, born April 9th, 1937, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2017 at the age of 79 years.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carol, and five children: Angela (Adam), Jae, Sharon, Robynne (Andrew), and Eric (Amy); six grandchildren: Kyran, Brenna, Drew, Laura, Sarah, and Grace; his siblings: Leo Wiens (Mae), Klaire Paul, Agatha Grisedale (John), Erbin Wiens (Cathy), and sister-in-law Anna Ruppert.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Erich and Margaret, son-in-law Kenneth McGillion, granddaughter Allison Wiens and siblings: Pete Ruppert, William Ruppert (Phyllis), Paul Ruppert (Helen), and twin sister Rosanna Lenfesty (Mark).
Robert was uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. He was a foster parent to many children for 20 years. Diane and Beatrice Houle are still considered family.
He was friends with everyone he met.

A Service of Remembrance willl be held Thursday, February 9, 2017, 1 P.M., at the Hanna Community Centre. Interment will take place at St. George’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanna, Alberta.
