Mrs. Ruth “Marlene” Howell nee Denney of Innisfail
passed away November 10, 2016 at the age of 77
years.
Marlene was born January 21, 1939 at Manyberries to
Thomas and Martha Denney. Marlene married George
Howell on June 3, 1959 in Carstairs. They were blessed
with their son Darren in 1965.
Marlene worked at the Innisfail Health Care Centre as
a nurse and operating room tech. She was an active
volunteer with numerous organizations, and was a
member with Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Marlene also enjoyed bowling, knitting and crochet, and
was very talented in the kitchen.
Marlene is survived by her sister Joeann Denney of
Edmonton; her brother Barry Denney of Wells, B.C.;
her son Darren (Donna) Howell of Innisfail; special
granddaughters Brittany (Rob) Harrison of Kelowna,
B.C., Tina (Mathieu) Hebert - great grandchildren
Tayedra Lamoureux, Jorja Hebert, Rylan Hebert of
Grande-Dique, New Brunswick; special niece Jackie
(Gabe) Coscarella of Edmonton; special cousin Marjorie
Gal of Lethbridge; numerous nieces, nephews and
Howell family-in-laws.
Marlene was predeceased by her husband George in
2007, one sister Dolores Evans, two brothers Ken and
Butchie Denney.
Marlene passed away peacefully with her son and
daughter-in-law by her side, at the Innisfail Health Care
Centre.
A memorial service will be held at the Innisfail United
Church on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
