It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Phillip Lloyd Gow announces his passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on Thursday July 7, 2016 at the age of 72 years.
Phil was born at the family home in Vauxhall, Alberta on July 2, 1944, the fourth son to Frank and Violet Gow, and where he spent his early years. In 1972 Phil made his way north to the Bowden, Alberta area where he lived the rest of his years.
Phil will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Michelle (Jean) Martin of Yellowknife, NWT, and his six grandchildren: Christian, Josée, Cole, Shelby, Sadie, and Summer. He will also be remembered by his 9 siblings: Everett (Jan) Gow of Brighton, ON, John (Diane) Gow of Whitehorse, YK, Floyd (Elsie) Gow of Bowden, AB, Robert (Maureen) Gow of Lethbridge, AB, Marylou (Harold) Donaldson of Pincher Creek, AB, Paul (Marlene) Gow of Vauxhall, AB, Dixie Jensen of Taber, AB, Cheryl (Randy) Waddle of Lethbridge, AB, and Tim (Joyce) Gow of Vauxhall, AB. Phil is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Phil was predeceased by his parents Frank (1986) and Violet (2007), two brothers Kenneth and Elon (1948), his niece Tracy Gow (1984) and nephew Jeff Haley (1994). Phil will be missed by all that knew him.
In keeping with Phil's wishes there will be no memorial service. If family and friends so desire, donations may be made to any of the following charities that were dear to his heart and had touched his life personally:
