It is with great sadness that the family of Doug Bales announces his passing at the Red Deer Hospital on January 17, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Doug had many accomplishments thoughout his life with a trucking, hotel and construction companies. He was a hardworker and businessman who gained many friends through the years. He was married to Betty (nee Edwards) for 60 years and was very proud of his family. It was a blessing for him to be able to see his grandchildren grow into adults. He will be truly missed but the memories we have will remain in our hearts forever. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife Betty; 3 children Wayne (Gail) Bales, David Bales; Kathy Bales; grandchildren Brent, Renay, Shelley and Mark; brothers Jim and Bob; sisters Edna (Jack), Kathleen (Gordon); Mary; as well as a friend to many. A private graveside was held on Friday January 22, 2016 at Carstairs Cemetery, Carstairs.
