Love and Laughter, and Pies

Where to begin? My memories of Betty are warm and simple. Betty was always a breathe of life, and love and laughter for me. I remember well, the smell of her kitchen, the sound of her laughter and the feel of her company. Maya Angelou said "People may not remember what you said or what you did , but they always remember how you made them feel" Betty always made me feel like I was one of her own. Which in Betty's terms meant I was special when I walked in a room. And I saw that she made everyone else feel that same way. Like they were special too when they walked in the room. Like they were her own. How do I describe it? It was a something she wore like a fragrance of herself. Not that she was conscious of it but simply that it was who she was...and it permeated the room. I remember her gifts of pies, and jams on special occasions which my Granny lovingly added along side her own wonderful pies with much honour. I miss those days. They say you can never go back to your childhood. But that's okay. I'm going forward...... to where we will one day meet again at that heavenly banquet table. I'm looking forward to the dinner conversation Betty. Until that day.......My prayers and love to your family and loved ones, from Judy Miller (and Timothy Anderson)
