Carol Farrell passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the age of 78 years after a brief battle with Acute Leukemia. Born in Fort St. John, BC, she later joined the Air Force and was stationed in Quebec. After her son Darrell was born she left the military and moved to St. Margarets, New Brunswick and then eventually moved to Prince George, BC. Carol and Mike met in 1982 and were married in 1987. They were posted to Cold Lake where Carol worked as a secretary on the base. Once Mike retired from military service in 1992, they moved to Red Deer where Carol continued her secretarial work at CFB Penhold until her retirement in 1998. After Mike’s retirement from the private sector in 2007, they moved to Sundre and wintered in Casa Grande, AZ. Carol enjoyed fishing, camping and golfing along with her many crafts of every kind. Her painted rocks are treasured by family and friends. Beautifully decorated gourds are in both their homes in AB and AZ along with her paintings and family pictures. Both Mike and Carol were active in archery in Prince George where Carol was the BC Indoor and Outdoor Champion for multiple years. She enjoyed winters in Arizona with her many friends from Michigan, Missouri, Iowa, and Canada as well as her friends at home. Carol is survived by her husband Mike; son Darrell (Joyce) Donovan of Vancouver, BC; stepdaughters Courtney (Chris) Conovar of Everett, WA, Kristin (Wade) Carson (grandchildren Tessa & Ainsley) of Surrey, BC, Leah (Carlos)Berrios (grandchildren Tony, Maya Ethan) of Langley, BC; sister Elenore (Art) Vaneck of Prince George, BC; brother Don (Shirley) Schneider of Merritt BC; sisters-in-law Anne (Blaine) Vargo, Linda (Brad) Petersen, Mary (David) Stalker and brother-in-law Larry (Lynn) Farrell.

At Carol’s request no funeral service will be held and her ashes will be spread in the mountains overlooking the Ya-Ha-Tinda Valley.
