Obituary for Dennis Clayborn Lee

We are saddened by the passing of Dennis Lee on Sunday, April 21, 2019. Dennis was born in Calgary then moved as a teenager with his family to the Stauffer/Caroline area. Den worked many trades from drilling rigs to dairy cow inspection, to spending the summer in a forest look-out tower, to being a musician. His last career was as a journeyman carpenter. He was meticulous, taking great pride in whatever he made. His final role was instructing at Bowden Institute, helping many to learn a trade. His true passion was music. He was a great acoustic guitar player and was a member of many bands in the Central Alberta region. Many of his closest friends were those he played with. He also loved the outdoors; especially camping and fishing with his family, friends and dogs. If you met Den, you met a friend; quick to smile and give a firm handshake. His charismatic charm and sharp wit usually found him surrounded at any gathering. Seldom was there a dull moment. There were always plenty of laughs and Den would often share one of his many humorous mottos, “Life is like a glass of beer, once you lose your head, that’s it.” We will miss you Den. Rest in peace. Dennis is survived by son Ryan (Ramona) Cooper, granddaughter MacKenzie, grandson Jesse, brother Jim (Rita), sister Myrna (Gordon), sister Wendy (Matthew), brother Trevor (Bonnie) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Heartland Funeral Services, Innisfail entrusted with arrangements. 403-227-0006.
