Obituary for Robert Wilkinson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa (Papa), Robert Wilkinson of Olds on March 5, 2019 at the age of 95. Robert was born in Irving, Alberta on November 30, 1923 and in 1924 moved to their family farm near Trochu, Alberta. Robert made a living and provided for his family by driving truck and farming. He was a quiet yet strong determined individual who was blessed with a great outlook on life that carried him through many trying times. He loved all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and was always happy to share his wisdom and stories of the past like they happened yesterday. Robert enjoyed his summers by the lake shore fishing with Olga and was happy to share his advice about the best bait with family when they would join. Robert is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Olga; their children Terry (Carolyn) Wilkinson, Ruth (Murray) Leischner, Edward (Marion) Wilkinson; grandchildren Ashley, Cory (Chrissy), Katrina (Jai), Joy, Kyle, Ariel, and Damian, and great grandchildren, Madison, Jax, Serenity, Hayden, Devon, Shalynn, Shelby, and Jace. Robert is also remembered by Dennis, Allan, Jim and their families in BC. He is predeceased by his parents and his siblings. There will be a private family Celebration of Life held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Olds Hospital Foundation or S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance.
