Elizabeth Doreen Adamcik (nee Adams)was born in Millarville on August 21, 1930. She passed away peacefully on January 21, 2019 in the Olds Hospital at the age of 88 years. Betty was the 3rd youngest of 12 children. She grew up in and around the Turner Valley area until she finished high school. Betty met and married Frank Adamcik on June 10, 1950. They resided and farmed at Red Deer Lake, south of Calgary with their four children; Vern, Frank, Michelle, Maryanne. In 1972, they moved to the Zella district where they continued to farm until their retirement in 1992. She was a farmer’s wife and worked very hard alongside her husband for many years milking cows, feeding chickens and driving a lot of the machinery. Betty was the best cook and baker. There was always coffee on and tasty treats to go with it. She loved to sew, knit, crochet and tend to her gardens of flowers and vegetables. She was a member of the WI and CWL for many years and an active member of St. Stephen’s. She made many friends during her years of involvement with the church. Betty enjoyed large get together’s whether it was for a birthday, holiday season or just because. The bigger the event the more she enjoyed it. She was predeceased by her son Vern in 1974, grandson Corey Craig in 2007 and husband Frank in 2012. She will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children Frank Adamcik, Michelle Adamcik and Maryanne (Ed) Craig all of Olds; 2 grandsons Trevor Adamcik of Calgary and Kyle Craig of Olds; her sisters Phyllis Mangan of Innisfail and Ruth (Gene) Giroux of Edmonton.
