KLEIN
Leo Klein passed away peacefully December 3, 2018 with his family by his side at the Olds Hospice at the age of 94 years. Leo was born in Mt. Carmel, North Dakota on January 26, 1924 to John and Irene Klein. He lived in many places in his childhood but settled in Heisler, AB, where he met the love of his life Blanche Meyer. They married in 1957 and together they enjoyed farming and raising their family. Leo excelled at many trades including coal mining, ranch hand, carpentry, construction, and farming being his mainstay. Fishing was Leo’s passion and he was known as “LAST CAST LEO“. After retiring in 1987, they moved near Stettler then to Lacombe and finally to Olds. Leo was always there to lend a helping hand and give advice. He was a master at sharpening knives or scissors. He could fix almost anything especially any lawn mower worth fixing. Leo was always there for his family; he was a wonderful father, grandfather and loved all his family, especially his great-grandchildren. Leo had a wonderful way of making you know that you were loved without ever saying it. Leo is survived by his loving wife Blanche of 61 years; their children Lindell, Leonard (Linda), Marion (Jeff Forre), Marie, Leanne (Tim Giles), Mark (Leola), Lori-Anne (James Nibourg) and Trevor; grandchildren Jenna, Erin, Elizabeth, Justina, Alicia, Isaac, Matthew, John, Abigail, Cassidy, Samuel and Adrianna; three great-grandchildren Christian, Emma and Emmett; sisters Bertha, Bernice, and brother Walter. Leo was predeceased by his parents John and Irene; brother Lawrence; sister Mary and grandson Andrew Nibourg. Leo will be deeply missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Olds & District Hospice Society or Mary's Meals.
