I was very sad to learn about Monty's passing. Our families lived across the street from each other in Chaplin, Sask. where Monty went to high school. He and my brother George were good friends and spent a lot of time together. They lost touch with each other when Monty left to go to university and my brother took a job working for Dept. of Highways in Sask. I met up with Monty again when I went to University of Sask. in Saskatoon in 1966-67. I have fond memories of those high school years when Monty was like part of our family. One memory that stands out is when Monty came with our family to camp out for a couple days at a lake near Moose Jaw, Sask. I became a teacher in Saskatoon and later in Surrey, BC. Sadly my brother George passed away in 2017.
Much sympathy is sent to you and your family for your loss.

To all of Monty’s family I am so sorry for your loss. Growing up the Miller Lehane and Wild office always felt like extended family. I have known most of the staff there my whole life and Monty was especially special, not only was he amazing principal to me when I worked there he was a dear friend, a beautiful human being and a man of great integrity, kindness and wisdom. I cherish our long talks we had and the wisdom his passed down. I was blessed to have shared this life time with him. This world is a better place because of the kindness Monty brought to it.

Monty was a rare person in this world of ours: a thoroughly good man who spread goodness around him and leaves only goodness in his wake. I will remember him for his kindness, his honesty, his inquiring mind and his passion for all living things. The world is a poorer place without him. My most sincere condolences to Jean and all the family.

In the mid 70's, Monty was instrumental in helping me find my spiritual path and that has forever changed my life. I thanked him then and I thank him now and will pray for the progress of his soul in the heaven of the Lord, immersed in an ocean of light.

Jean we are very sorry to hear of your loss. Monty was a special person we appreciated him as our lawyer and friend. When I heard of his passing my thoughts were of our many great trips golfing in Kimberley. Monty followed me as Rotary President and he was instrumental in bringing the first two females into the club. He will be missed. Sharon and I send our love. Unfortunately we are in Arizona and will be unable to make it on the 30th.
