Condolences

Condolence From: Stewart Stephanson. R.M.H.
Condolence: Beginning in May 1968, I began a 36 year career with the Utility that supplied the gas service in the village of Caroline. Among many others, Charlie and Wilma were customers I met immediately in my duties. I was always greeted and welcomed into their home, and over the years had numerous visits, especially with “ Charlie “. We had many interests in common, and it didn’t hurt I was a farm boy growing up, had short, but interesting stint with the A F S, and knew which end of a horse or cow got up and down first! I recall him telling me decades ago, standing at the gate to the back lane, that he had been one of the first outfitters working for Imperial Oil, when that company was exploring in the Swan Hills. It’s been 14 years since I retired, but in that time if I bumped into Charlie in Rocky, he would go out of his way to greet me with a friendly handshake and chat. His life was one well lived for sure.
