Obituary for Elaine Joyce Anderson (Olson)

Elaine Joyce Anderson (Olson)

Elaine Anderson
1934 - 2018
Mrs. Elaine Anderson was born in Turner Valley, Alberta on October 2, 1934 to George and Rena Olson. Elaine passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Innisfail, Alberta on May 20, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Elaine was the youngest of 6 children and grew up in the Turner Valley/Black Diamond area. As the much younger sibling, Elaine lived with some of her sisters and their families as her parents worked in remote locations. This allowed her to develop a close relationship with some of her older nieces and nephews. Elaine moved to Olds to work at the telephone office as an operator and then moved to Bowden where she met her husband Jim. Jim and Elaine were married on September 11, 1954. They welcomed four children to make their family complete, Len in 1956, Lorn in 1957, Debbie in 1959 and Doug in 1961. Elaine is survived by her husband of 63 years Jim, sons Len (Deb), Lorn (Gloria), her daughter Debbie (Norm) Bailey, her grandchildren Corey (Janet), Keith (Shannon), Kristy (Ron), Blair (Ali), Bonnie (Kent), Carmen (Mike), and Crystal (Travis) and her great grandchildren: Haley, Rachel, Logan, Dalyn, Dylan, Blake, Lane, Bodhi, and Hanna. She was predeceased by her son Doug, her parents and her siblings: Cora, Lois, Mildred, Wilmer and Donald. A Celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at the Bowden Community Hall on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Friends of the Eastern Slopes.
