Remembering a Beautiful Woman

I will always remember Ruth playing the piano at our church services. One occasion is very vivid to me. It was at the wedding service of Loralee Luyendyk and Andrew Mills. After the vows and just as the young couple were walking down the isle to leave, Ruth with a huge smile on her faces played

"I'm Gonna Love You Forvever",   With a rocking rhythm!!

My daughter Heather took piano lessons from Ruth. We would go after supper to her house. At some of these lessons, I would stay in the kitchen working on my Math homework. Ruth had set up her old fasioned electric coffee perk, and I would plug it in so when the lesson was finished we would have coffee. Ruth had a canary in a cage that sat on top of the fridge as I remember. All through the lesson that canary never let a note loose. As soon as the coffee pot really began to perk, the canary would trill and sing it's heart out!

Ruth was a true friend, always there to lend an ear through good times and bad. We cried together and we laughed together.Through the years I lived in the Cremona area, she was very precious to me and even after we moved away I kept in touch with her at Christmas with a card and a letter.

Go up High on that Mountain Ruth..

Friendship isn't a BIG thing.. it is a million little things.
