Bert Edwin Bradshaw

The Bradshaw family is sad to announce the passing of their Dad, Gran’pa and Great-Gran’pa Bert. Bert Edwin Bradshaw passed away at the Sunset Manor on November 6th, 2017, at the age of 94 years. He is survived by his four children: Beth (Marvin) Fredeen their two children Tara-Lee (Troy) Goerlitz and Troy Fredeen; son Dale (Wendy) their children Roseanna, Emily and Tanner; son Trevor (Yvonne) their children Janna and Tyler; son Lorne (Val) their children Devon and Chelsea; two great grandchildren Mackenzie and Isaac Goerlitz; two sisters Ruth Jackson and Grace Hamilton and sister-in-law Marie Bradshaw. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Unger); his parents David and Bertha Bradshaw; brothers John “Jack”, Joseph, and David; and his sister Alma Kirkham.

Bert received his education at the Little Red Deer School about three miles north of his parent’s farm west of Innisfail and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII. He and Margaret were married in 1949 and their courtship saw his Minneapolis Moline tractor traveling often between Innisfail and Bowden, as that was Bert’s mode of transportation at the time. They farmed in the Grahamston district east of Innisfail until his retirement from Corrections Canada (Bowden), after nearly 30 years, in the early 80’s. He was a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge all his adult life, Bert was a man of integrity and perseverance, dedicated to his family, to his community and to his country.
