Obituary for Myrtle Quartly

Quartly, Myrtle Georgina (nee Fisher)
1919 - 2011

Myrtle Georgina Quartly of Innisfail passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the age of 92 years. Myrtle was born Thursday, July 24, 1919 to George and Myrtle Fisher at Commerce, Alberta which is north of Lethbridge. Myrtle moved to Innisfail to the Aberdeen district with her parents and six siblings when she was six months old. Three more siblings were born after the move to Innisfail. Myrtle attended Aberdeen school. She married on July 24, 1941 to Sydney John Quartly at Innisfail. There were three children born to this union. Sydney and Myrtle lived on their farm in the Clarendon district for nearly 50 years. They moved in 1992 to Innisfail near Dodds Lake, where they remained until they moved to the Country Lodge in 2006.
Myrtle is survived by her husband of over 70 years Syd, her three children; Darrold (Carla) of Stony Plain, Jill (Robert) Juuti of Rocky Mountain House, Heather (Terry) Goddard of Sundre. Myrtle is further survived by 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one sister Florence Black, many nieces and nephews and families and her dear friend Amy Dulaney. Myrtle was predeceased by her parents; 8 siblings, 1 son-in-law and one great-grandson. The family wishes to thank the staff of both the Country Lodge and the Innisfail Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family through www.metcalffuneralchapel.com. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Innisfail Nazarene Church 4904 – 48th Street.
