Obituary for Dennis Clare Hawthorne

Hello everyone, this is Denny’s niece here, Cathy.

It is with extreme heartbreaking sadness to tell you all that Denny passed away yesterday, peacefully at his home.
Denny truly had a one of a kind soul, and the wittiest sense of humour I’ve ever known. He was gentle, kind, & although quiet, always had something very intelligent to say. Our family has suffered a great loss.
In saying that, he is no longer suffering & is at peace, and will have been reunited with beloved family on “the other side”.

He is survived by his mother Alvina Hawthorne, his sister Linda Hawthorne, and myself, his niece, Cathy Alfke.
We are all going through the roller coaster of the grieving process I’m sure you will all understand.

As per Denny’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service or funeral. Just remember the great memories & joy he brought to all our lives. He was extremely practical & didn’t want us to go through all that nonsense lol, and that was SO my uncle.

I’ll be tending to his Facebook page so feel free to send us a message or story about how you knew him or whatever you’d like to say, we’d love any pictures you have of him as well. The photo is of Grandma, my mom, me, my fiancé, & Denny. My fiancé & I live in NZ, this was the last photo of us all together ❤️

Much love to you all, and apologies for having to break the news via Facebook.

RIP Uncle 😢❤️ You will always be loved & forever live in our hearts. — with Linda Hawthorne.

In keeping with Dennis' wishes, in lieu of funeral services he asked that you donate to the Alberta/Canada Lung Association for COPD Research
