DALE JEFFREY CHATWOOD

March 29, 1958 - December 25, 2017

Dale Jeffrey Chatwood of Innisfail, Alberta age 59, passed away at the Calgary Foothills Medical Centre on December 25, 2017 with family at his side. He was born March 29, 1958 in Rocky Mountain House to Vera Chatwood (Mason).

Dale was an extremely hard worker who loved using his hands to get any job done. Growing up in Rocky, Dale excelled in sports. He played minor hockey in Rocky before moving up to the senior level and playing with the Rocky Rams. After moving to Innisfail (1980) Dale played the rest of his Senior Hockey career with the Innisfail Eagles. Dale also excelled as a fastball player and was well known as a pitcher. Dale played for many years around central Alberta for Rocky, Innisfail, and Red Deer where he competed for countless Championships.

After fastball Dale became an avid golfer where he focused a lot of his time at the Innisfail Golf and Country Club. Countless hours of his summer were spent at the driving range and on the course constantly trying to improve his game. Dale was extremely talented with whatever he did. Along with his sporting accomplishments Dale loved to sing, dance, play the guitar, drums, woodworking, painting, and loved spending time outside enjoying nature's beauty. Dale was referred to by many of his friends as “Chatty” or “Chico.”

With all of Dale’s talents and accomplishments, he was most proud about was being a father to his four children.

Dale is Survived by his children: Jason (Heather), Jaret, Elisabeth and Anthony; grandson: Tucker; his sister’s: Shirley Anderson and Sherri Robinson. He was predeceased in death by his mother: Vera Chatwood (Mason); brother Jim Chatwood; and sister Sheila Chatwood.
A service of Celebration of Dale’s life will be held at the Innisfail Nazarene Church on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
