Obituary for Glen Greenaway Berry

BERRY, Glen Greenaway
Glen Greenaway Berry, 69, of Innisfail, Alberta passed away peacefully on December 20, 2017 at Red
Deer Regional Hospital from complications following a series of strokes.
Born in Carman, Manitoba on January 30, 1948 to Hugh and Beth (Greenaway) Berry, Glen was the
second of four children. After he graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1970, Glen headed west
to Alberta where he would meet and marry his wife Darlene in 1973. A year later, Glen and Darlene
moved to Innisfail and opened their business Green Way Farm Supply in 1974. As their business grew,
so did their family, with the arrival of children Angela (1978) and Matthew (1980). For the next 25
years, Glen spent countless hours supporting his children in their various activities. He would continue
operating Greenway until he retired, although reluctantly, in 2007.
In his free time, especially since retirement, Glen spent his time walking, enjoying morning coffee with
his friends, reading, playing Sudoko, annual salmon fishing trips, watching (and becoming frustrated)
with the Blue Jays and watching his granddaughter Morgan grow.
Glen is survived by wife Darlene, daughter Angela, granddaughter Morgan and son Matthew. Siblings
John (Karen) Berry, Mona Berry (Russ Kuchinski), Lois Berry (Laurie Thompson), mother-in-law
Marie Jackson and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents
Hugh and Beth Berry and father-in-law Arnold Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 4304 49th Avenue, Innisfail,
Alberta on Saturday, December 30 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Glen’s name to the Heart & Stroke
