Obituary for Elsie Margaret Tennant

Elsie Margaret Tennant
TENNANT
Elsie Margaret
September 22, 1945 – March 27, 2017

Elsie Tennant passed away suddenly on Monday, March 27 at the age of 71 years. She was born in Borden, Saskatchewan to Alvin (Johnny) and Doreen (Dot) Johnston. She was second of eight children. Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great - grandmother, sister, friend and volunteer. An avid golfer, Elsie was a vibrant member of every community that was lucky enough to receive her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humour and fun, work ethic and her fearlessness. Elsie could be found at the heart of any gathering – in fact, she was the heart! The ultimate mother, she nurtured us all – most often with delicious meals and gifts of sewing. Elsie survived by her husband Joe and sons Steven (Laura) and Ken; Grandchildren Chris (Amber) and Jake; and great grandson Charlie. Siblings Bob (Brenda), Kathy (Ron), Helen (George), Marion (Claude), Ann (Julian), Linda and Fran (David). Joe’s children Karen (Dan) and Jonathon. Grandchildren Alex, Olivia and George. She was a much loved Auntie by her many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her first husband Dale Barton in 2002 and her father Alvin Johnston in 2013. If I was tall enough to talk to birds, I would pick you up in my arms with words. And lend your eyes a sight to see, just how much you mean to me. Just how much you mean to me... (Going – Towrs – Grey Fidelity). Celebration of Life was held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11 am at the Faith Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made directly to the Sundre Palliative Care Association. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Sundre entrusted with arrangements.
